Sour Girl - Stone Temple Pilots

She turned away what was she looking at? She was a Sour Girl the day that she met me
Hey! What are you looking at? She was a happy girl the day that she left me
She turned away what was she looking at? She was a Sour Girl the day that she met me
Hey! What are you…. looking at? She was a happy girl when she left me
               ~~ Chorus ~~~
What would you do ooh? What would you do if I followed you?
What would you do.... I follow? [instrumental]
Don't turn away, what are you looking at? He was so happy on the day that he met her
Say, what are you looking at? I was a Superman but looks are deceiving..
The roller coaster ride is a lonely one I'd pay a ransom note to stop it from steaming
Hey! What are you looking at? She was a teenage girl when she met me...
                ~~ Chorus ~~~ INTRO WITH PAUSES ~~
The girl got reasons..... they all got reasons
                ~~ Chorus ~~ 2X

Notes from Wikipedia:
Scott Weiland wrote the song about his first wife, Janina Castaneda. They got married in 1994, as Stone Temple Pilots were becoming popular in America. Weiland admitted that he put her through hell with his capricious behavior that stemmed from his addictions.[1] "Everyone is convinced that it's about my romance with Mary [Forsberg, second wife]," Weiland writes in his autobiography Not Dead and Not For Sale. "But everyone is wrong. 'Sour Girl' was written after the collapse of my relationship with Jannina [Castaneda, first wife]. It's about her. 'She was a sour girl the day that she met me,' I wrote. 'She was a happy girl the day she left me… I was a superman, but looks are deceiving. The rollercoaster ride's a lonely one. I pay a ransom note to stop it from steaming.' The ransom note, of course, was the fortune our divorce was costing me. And the happy state, which I presumed to be Jannina's mood, was because she had finally rid her life of a man who had never been faithful.

"[2] "Sour Girl" also appears on the compilation albums Thank You and Buy This. It was the only Stone Temple Pilots song from No. 4 to reach the Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at number 78.

[3] "Sour Girl" has been described as a "trippy" song.[4][5]

Music video[edit] The music video was released to accompany this single, and stars Sarah Michelle Gellar,[6] who was a huge fan of the band, as the female lead in the video. At the time, Gellar was a rising star thanks to her TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and her movies Cruel Intentions and I Know What You Did Last Summer.[7] The trippy video was directed by David Slade, whose work includes episodes of Hannibal and the movie The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The clip features little people in costumes that look like the Teletubbies, which were big at the time. The band claimed this was a coincidence, and that the creatures are based on a dream Weiland had.[8] The clip was nominated for Best Cinematography on MTV Video Music Awards in 2000.[9]

Scott Richard Weiland (né Kline,[1] October 27, 1967 – December 3, 2015) was an American musician, singer and songwriter. During a career spanning three decades, Weiland was best known as the lead singer of the band Stone Temple Pilots from 1989 to 2002 and 2008 to 2013. He was also a member of supergroup Velvet Revolver from 2003 to 2008 and recorded one album with another supergroup, Art of Anarchy. He also established himself as a solo artist, releasing three studio albums, two cover albums, and collaborations with several other musicians throughout his career. Derided by critics early in his career,

Weiland was known for his flamboyant and chaotic onstage persona; he was also known for constantly changing his appearance and vocal style, for his use of a megaphone in concerts for vocal effect, and for his battles with substance abuse.[2] Now widely viewed as a talented and versatile vocalist,[3] Weiland has been ranked in the Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists by Hit Parader (No. 57). In 2012, Weiland formed Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts. The band received mixed reviews, and some critics and fans noted Weiland's failing health.

In December 2015, Weiland died of an accidental drug overdose on his tour bus in Minnesota at the age of 48. Upon his death, many critics and peers offered re-evaluations of Weiland's life and career; those critics included David Fricke of Rolling Stone[4] and Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins, who identified Weiland as one of three "voices of the generation" alongside Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley.
